Nature reserves in Kramfors municipality

There are 23 nature reserves in Kramfors, some concentrated to the area of the High Coast (Höga Kusten) where many magnificent views and interesting types of nature may be enjoyed. Here you will find examples of varied types of geological formations and many exciting goals for excursions such as Storön, Högbonden, Högklinten, Rotsidan, Norrfällsviken, Storsand and the most highly elevated island in Sweden, Mjältön. Here is where you also find the steep precipices and hills with special southern type vegetation such as Omneberget, Skuleberget, Herrestaberget and ravines such as the Halsvik ravine and the Finn-Stenbittjärn stream. The old growth forest on Svartnäsudden is an exquisite contrast to the low skerry Gnäggen south of the Ulv islands with its rich birdlife. Icktjärnsberget is a municipal nature reserve close to the urban area and Älgberget-Björnberget is a natural forest reserve with an old settlement characterised by meadowland. Hugstmyrhöjden, Högkälstoppen, Godgrubberget and Lidberget are all natural forest areas where the lichen Methuselah's beard (Usnea longissima) may be found.

Part of the Skuleskogen National Park is situated in Kramfors municipality and just off the E4 highway at Skuleberget lies the High Coast Visitors centre Naturum where information is available on the natural surroundings in the municipality and on the World Heritage area.
